13. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: (Describe the major purpose of the project.)
- To improve the capacity of physical examination by integrating the instruments and equipment in the laboratory; - To extend the coverage and the quality of physical examination for workers; - To provide short- and long-course training for officials in charge of the laboratory;
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.)
- Improve the medical instruments and equipment in the laboratory that can determine and analyze work-related accidents and diseases at the workplaces such as 5 Diff Hematology Analyzer, Automate Biochemistry Analyzer, Electrolyte Analyzer (Na+, K+, Cl-), Coagultion Analyzer (PT, APTT..), Urine Analyzer, Microscope, Machine AAS, LC- MS, AutoClave, HPLC, Particle Measuring Machine, Blood Gas Analyzer, Biosafety Cabinet, Centrifuges, Cell Culture Material, Microscope PLM, and other supported facilities; - Construct a new laboratory building to install the instruments and equipment; - Build the capacity of officials in charge of laboratory and occupational disease doctors; - Establish an information sheet and instructions for physical examination for the workers defined for special health examination.

- Ensure the sustainability of physical examination services for the workers before employment and prevent occupational diseases; - Strengthen the capacity of the laboratory and officials; - Strengthen the quality of public service; - Increase the national budget income.

The proposed project aims to significantly enhance workplace safety and health standards across industries by enhancing the quality of the physical examination for the workers through the installation of laboratory equipment and human resource development. This initiative will directly contribute to reducing occupational hazards and improving the overall health and safety conditions for workers in Cambodia.

The implementation of the project will have a positive impact on both male and female workers, in particularly female workers, aims to strongly promote safety and health for workers, who are women workers in majority, working in factories and improve the quality of public services in the Department of Occupational Safety and Health.

The MLVT will serve as the executing agency responsible for overseeing the project's implementation. The MLVT will develop overall project advisory, action plan, and monitoring and evaluation throughout the project lifecycle.
