The accelerate linkage of supply chain on fruits and vegetables to ensure the quality and safety and meet market demand is crucial to play a major role in boosting the national economy through investment promotion, increasing agricultural productivity regard market demand, in particular, increasing the rural incomes. This is an integral part of the Industrial Development Plan (2015-2025) and the Strategic Plan for Agro-Industry Development. |

1. Improvement the linkage of supply chain infrastructure of fruit and vegetable products
2. Develop the traceability system of supply chin on fruits and vegetables

14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.) |
Fruits and vegetable have contributed significantly to sustaining the national economy, high benefits and contributing to increasing employment opportunities and boosting growth in the agricultural sector. There is, however, a wide gap between demand and supply due to some of the key factors after harvest, resulting in some products losing quality and safety through temperature control, storage, freight, additionally and in particular, there is no cool management system of the supply chain. Moreover, most of farmers are unclear planning in production to meet the market demand. The project will focus on:
1. Strengthen the infrastructure management of fruit and vegetable through ensure the products quality safety and minimizing loss at minimal level.
2. Improve control of traceability system, the origin of fruits and vegetables products to ensure quality control and product safety meet to the market requirement.
3. Promote agricultural business operators through providing specific information about the needs and supply of fruit and vegetable products to ensure the quantity, price, and lowest costing.

There are some of reasons that this project is selected and prioritized:
1. The linkage of supply chain processes still in concerned, that mostly of agriculture products sell at the farm gate or could the point to make their products loss their price during the harvesting season, which result in significant losses due to post-harvest technical deficiencies, including storage, delivery, distribution, added value, which making the supply of fruit and vegetable products are declining and farmers get high risk to losing value addition on their products and agriculture business operators also loss the value of product that resulting in production decline.
2. Variations in domestic and neighboring demand and on international markets
3. Partnership between public and private institutions is much important to promoting, sustainable, inclusive, competitiveness in the agricultural sector.

The project will contribute to poverty reduction through increasing incomes and rural employment, which will directly benefit to farmers or producers, agriculture business operators, processors and consumers. |

The project contributes to minimizing the impact on people and the environment by reducing waste from damaged products. The project has contributed significantly to increasing people's income, especially in rural areas, by increasing rural investment efficiency more effectively. |

Women have equal rights to perform and implement in the project. In this project, qualified women will be prioritized in the selected position in the work activities. In addition, the project will encourage women to participate in the project no less than 50%. |

The Department of Agro-Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has a strong structure and human resources with high sufficient capacity in technical specialists of master's degree and PhD. in agribusiness management, marketing and analysis, product quality and safety control, domestic and international agriculture and high experience to implement this project.

The project will be successful and fruitful of the duration of implementation and will have a positive impact on the continued implementation of the project even though the project is completed due to the project is implemented and managed by a specialized government official of the Department of Agro-Industry, Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fishing, and on the other hand, the projects raised in accordance with the Royal Government's National Strategic Plan, Strategy Plan for Agriculture Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Strategies Plan for Development Agro-Industry of the Department of Agro-Industry. However, there are some challenges to project delays:
1. Ensuring involvement and participation of key value chain of stakeholders at the starting point throughout the formulation of the task.
2. Understanding and accepting new knowledge and technologies
3. Making the possible use of highly efficient human resources derived from the project fund, civil society etc.
