1. To increase the transportation capacity
2. To improve logistic efficiency

4. To promote economic activity in the areas along the project road with Vietnam |

1. Construction works:
1.1 Improvement of existing National Road No.2 Length = 62.56km and
1.2 Improvement of existing National Road No.22 Length = 9.61km
2. Consulting Service: Detailed Design, Tender Assistance, Construction Supervision and Capacity Development. |
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
Road currency is not enough width, not standard of international road highway, can't protect water flooding, road damages, traffic jump on urban area. |
16. BENEFITS (Who will benefit, directly and indirectly, from the project?) |
Road users will benefit directly from lower transport costs and time savings brought by the road improvement. Improved access will bring indirect benefits from increased commercial activity, economic growth and social benefits to local population. |

Resettlement of the project affected people located within the project road right of way will be managed by the resettlement Action Plan (RAP), which consists of entitlement "full replacement cost" benefits and additional benefits "income restoration program" for the most affected households. Environmental Impact Assessment has been approved by the Ministry of Environment to mitigate the negative impacts on the project surrounding environment. Upon completion, the local people could enjoy the improved air quality and reduced noise/vibration to the reduction in traffic congestion. The project will assist indirectly in alleviating poverty. |

Improved access will support efforts for gender equality. Gender plan to be implemented during construction is to support and protect the interests and right of female employees. |

We have limited capacity to implement the project successfully. As part of the project, we recruit a consultant team to assist our team in project design, supervision and capacity development.

Improvement of existing National Road No.2 Length = 62.56km and 1.2។ Improvement of existing National Road No.22 length = 9.61km commenced construction on 16 October 2019. |
