The project aims to provide the three target provinces with dual-layer concrete/rubber roads that are resilient to climate change, reliable, safer, and more accessible to markets, schools, and other social services in all seasons, at a lower cost. The improved roads will provide vulnerable communities in rural areas with easier access to transportation and greater opportunities for socio-economic development. |

Renovate existing roads into concrete/asphalt paved roads for approximately 120 km, along with other infrastructure in the target province, and promote traffic safety by the community. |

Improve rural connectivity and the livelihoods of rural people in the three coastal provinces of Cambodia and implement sustainable rural road safety. |

The Royal Government, through the Ministry of Rural Development, will ensure that gender analysis is fully implemented and ensure that all project activities are designed and implemented in accordance with the Asian Development Bank’s Gender and Development Policy. Other measures will include: 1. Work will be carried out using technically feasible labor; 2. Work involving unskilled labor must have at least 20% female participation; 3. Women and men performing the same unskilled work must receive the same compensation; 4. Roads and footpaths must be made accessible to women |
