With an aim to effectively implement the 4th Mandate of the Royal Government of Cambodia's strategic goal on upgrading and modernizing industrial and small and medium enterprises, the establishment of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Promotion Center will help modernizing small and medium enterprises, attract investors and engage in the regional production chain leading to the global value chain as follow: - Facilitate in technology transfer for SMEs through entrepreneurship training program, workshops and new technologies promotion (best practice), and the study visits in and outside the country. - Serve as a basis for improving capacity and entrepreneurship of local SMEs to be able to engage with large-scale enterprises and the clusters in order to improve productivity, innovation and high skills; and to promote the creation of clusters of production chain system and improve the techniques - Serve as the mechanism for information and become a consultative center for SMEs businesses, provide access to information over market, technology, investment and also serve as a mechanism for dealing with trade issues. - Coordinate in implementing the research and development fund (R&D) of the Royal Government in order to accelerate training mechanisms on product development and the techniques to transform agro-yields and local raw materials; thus increasing the quality, promote product value chain to link with multi-national businesses and create potential for exports.
