-Increase an opportunity for professors and students to practice both theory and practice on sculpture, painting, digital painting, communication design, printing, interrail design, Fashion design, photography, repairing and preserving sculptures, painting and documentation
-Increase the job market on the artistic skill of sculpture, painting, digital painting, communication design, fashion design, repairing and preserving sculptures and paintings
-Improve the livelihoods of professors, students and local communities that contribute to national economic development
-Strengthen and expand investment capital for university development
-Be a center hub for human resource in all fields of visual arts nationwide |
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.) |
Promote Faculty of Fine Arts Curriculum Development Project, Royal University of Fine Arts will contribute to the strengthening of the current curriculum of the specialist of faculty of fine arts, develop the new curriculum of the specialist of digital painting program, print making, smith sculpture, repairing and preserving sculptures, painting, and documentation. In addition, the project is going to construct 6 store building to support all education programs of faculty of fine arts. Furthermore, the project will build the network and create a center hub for sharing experience and innovation of the visual arts between professional and communities’ visual arts. The following shows the goals, expected results and achievement of the 3 projects:
1. Objective:
- Support the standard curriculum of the Faculty of Fine Arts that responds to the cultural and creative industries
2. Outcome
- Improve the current curriculum of sculpture, painting, communication design, interia design, and develop new curriculum of digital painting, smith sculpture, print making, fashion design, photography, repair and preservation of sculpture, painting, and documentation
- Establish a network of technical and visual arts skills by region and community
- Construct 6 store building with size 75m x 30m to serves sculpture and other fine arts subject workshop included;
- Basement used for car parking (80 Units) and motorbikes (100 units)
- Ground floor used for training on art, sculpture (sculpture, smith sculpture, wood and stone), repair and preservation of sculpture
a) 1st floor used for art and photography workshop
b) 2nd floor used for specialized workshop on communication and fashion design
c) 3rd floor used for Intria design workshop
d) 4th floor used for document repair and preservation workshop and paint experiment workshop
e) 5th floor used for theory class and co-education hall
f) Roof floor
3. Output
- Produce human resources in the field of visual arts with quality, ability and ethics
- Support national policy on culture
- Current curriculum and new standardized curriculum are introduced
- Increase the job market on the skills of art, sculpture, painting, communication design, interia design, and create new curriculum: digital painting, smith sculpture, print making, fashion design, photography and repair and preservation of sculpture, painting, and documents. |
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
Visual arts are the only specialist in Cambodia that is trained at Royal University of Fine Arts, The project is designed to meet the needs for effective and quality training, with wide range of training and the provision of adequate training material to support some of the skills innovations mentioned above. On the other hand, the visual arts community is scattered all over the country, where we need to organize and provide opportunities and places for the community to connect and share experiences and network both the work and the art market. |

Direct beneficiaries of the Project:
- University of Fine Arts particularly Faculty of Fine Arts with specialist skill as mention above including: academic staff, professors, students in majoring in visual art, and communities who identified as artist in fine arts fields.
Indirect beneficiaries of the Project:
- Cambodian people, tourists, local communities people where art communities are based |

There has no impact from the project toward environment
This project is contributed to poverty reduction because:
1.Create job opportunity in art sectors by training human resources that respond to the job market, both professor and students, as well as the visual arts community.
2- Create economic value and establish the foundation of cultural industry and increase awareness of it cultural arts through production of souvenirs to sell to national and international stakeholders. |
