This project will provide the computing power that MPWT needs to handle all 30 existing enterprise applications and microservices, which currently serve all major transport’s public services for the population, and to handle additional 10 enterprise applications/platforms that are in the pipeline to be built as part of MPWT’s digital projects. The project will also provide storage capacity that we foresee to be increased 300 percent in the next 5 years as MPWT implements its digital policy to support the Pentagon Strategy’s 5th Priority |

|
13. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: (Describe the major purpose of the project.) |
The main purpose of this project is to expand the computing power, 3 times by the end of 2025, of MPWT’s cloud computing resources in order to reliably and sustainably support MPWT’s digital policy. |
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.) |
MPWT-CCR is the cloud computing project designed to deliver computing services such as servers,
storage, database, and networking over the internet and intranet, as part of MPWT’s digital initiatives, to support MPWT’s public services, to protect data for the entire public works and transport sector, and to securely and safely share data with other ministries and government agencies. |
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
MPWT’s digital policy is inline with the Cambodia Digital Government Policy 2022-2035. MPWT’s core responsibilities are road and bridge infrastructure, logistics, and transportation (both land, waterway, and maritime transport). Each aspect of the responsibilities has a digital and ICT component. As part of MPWT’s digital policy, through this project, we aim to establish and build a robust digital infrastructure in order to empower and support that digital and ICT component. |

|
23. STATUS OF PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION: (Provide a brief update on the progress of the project to date. Discuss any major problems causing delays in project implementation.) |
Right now, we have an in-house data center with network switches, firewalls, computing servers, and storage servers. This project is to move the existing computing resources to a TIER III data center and to increase our computing power by 3 times by the end of 2025. As of now, this project is in a Planning & Design phase. With the budget that we are seeking for, we will be able to build out this project. |
