Run Ta Ek is located in Tani village, Run Ta Ek commune, Siem Reap province's Banteay Srey district. It has been developed by the Apsara Authority to Run Ta Ek natural village mainly accommodating the people who have relocated voluntarily from Angkor Archaeological Park and provided with land for settlement and agriculture. Based on provincial authority, currently there are about 60,445 households settling there, and the authority is developing necessary infrastructure such as roads, clean water, sewage system, electricity, administrative services, schools, health center, markets, among others.
With land provided for agriculture purposes, the relocated settlers need knowledge and know-how in integrated farming using proper technologies and support to increase sustainable agricultural production, thereby increasing their income through product sales to markets. Provision of technical knowledge in integrated agriculture and other necessary supporting infrastructure will contribute to improving their livelihoods in the long-term.
