13. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: (Describe the major purpose of the project.)
To maintain the fairness of the mutual recognition of engineering professional qualification in ASEAN and to provide the opportunity to engineers of CMLV Countries to participate fairly in the regional market as per the target of the regional integration policy. Furthermore, this project shall enhance the livelihood and economic development of CLMV countries members.
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.)
The proposed project is to conduct a technical training session in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The programs shall be chosen to top up the knowledge of engineers and assist them in professional practice in the industry. Refer to the research of The Board of Engineers, Cambodia (BEC), below programs seem to fit for the proposed training courses: • Essentials of Project Management, Fundamental Project Management, • Practical Project Management for the Construction & Managing it Projects successfully, • Engineering codes of Ethics and Liberalization The training period will be 5 days and technical tour 01 day at the construction sites closed to the city. After successful training, qualification of trainees will be upgraded to an acceptable standard. They shall be able to move throughout the ASEAN region. Engineer- trainees will be eligible to apply for the registration as ACPEs. Furthermore, trained engineers will use their knowledge to train fellow engineers in their respective countries.
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.)
Under the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on engineering Services, engineers of ASEAN nationalities shall be able to provide services in all ASEAN Members States. At present, engineers from the more developed ASEAN Member States have far greater opportunity to be employed in the less developed countries namely the CLMV. This capacity building project is aimed at providing fair opportunities for engineers from CLMV of Lancang-Mekong Countries to provide services throughout the region and reducing the barriers of free movement of professionals/skilled workers in the region. Those engineers will strongly contribute to the economic social development among the region.
16. BENEFITS (Who will benefit, directly and indirectly, from the project?)
Engineers from Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar and Vietnam will be direct beneficiaries. The benefit of this course will then be multiple and expanded to engineers in all CMLV. Related Government and professional body such as BEC will be able to use training materials to adopt or develop their own modules to further train more engineers in their country.

The Training division of the Board of Engineers, Cambodia will carry out the selection of lecturers, Trainees, location and Venue. Similar Trainings were successfully carried out.
23. STATUS OF PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION: (Provide a brief update on the progress of the project to date. Discuss any major problems causing delays in project implementation.)
BEC has been organizing a significant number of trainings projects since the establishment. However, more subjects required to train from time to time due to the advance of technologies. It is intended to arrange trainings continuously if funding resource is available.
