13. PROJECT OBJECTIVE: (Describe the major purpose of the project.)
The implementation of the proposed project is to adapt to the rapid development of Phnom Penh city, meet the urgent needs of urban rapid traffic demand, effectively resolve the internal and external traffic transformation, provides the function of peripheral road network and urban internal road network traffic transformation. The implementation of this project is of great significance for optimizing the traffic network of Phnom Penh city, promoting tourism and land development of Koh Dach Island, Phnom Penh city and lands in Kamdal Province along the route.
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.)
Starts at about 300m west of NR6 on Win Win Blvd, crosses with the road 70B at the ending point, total length is about 34.794km, the Koh Dach Grand Bridge. It's about 1.32km and the Koh Dach Grand Bridge II is about 1.85km.
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.)
Northeastern section of Phnom Penh Third Ring Road project connects the North3rd Ring Road of Phnom Penh (Win Win Blvd.) in the west, links the Koh Dach Island, overpasses Provincial Road 380 at east, then follows the route to the boundary of Kamdal province and Prey Veng after passing the northern industrial zone, crosses the Tonle Touch River twice before continuing to the southwest, then connects the Phnom Penh Third Ring Road though the proposed Mekong river bridge in the south, which forms a close connection with Phnom Penh city road network. Koh Dach Grand Bridge and link road is an important part of Phnom Penh Ring Road networks.
