(1) Water pollution sources inventory and water sampling;
(2) Describe and evaluate the results of water analysis;
(3) Consider existing relevant legal documents; and
(4) prepare technical guideline (technical procedures) on how to estimate the total pollution load which flows into Mekong River Basin; and
(5) improve the ability of officer at sub-national level and enhance public awareness. |

WQMD staffs will work closely with experts to do the pollution sources inventory and develop a guidebook on how to estimate pollution load. |
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
The project focuses on the studying of the pollution load into Mekong River Basin, which may cause serious impact on Mekong River Basin water environment. |

1. Riverians, especially those who live in the river basin
2. Those whose food sources are from the rivers
3. Pollution load data to develop management plan
4. Scientific data for further research.

This project does not have any impacts on people and the environment, but it contribute to poverty reduction by ensuring the safety of the Tonle Sap Lake is not polluted, which affects on public health and national economic development. |

The role of men and women is very important in participating in water conservation and protection and the prevention of water pollution, especially women has been provided priority to participate in water conservation through education mainstreaming activities such as do not throw solid waste in water, ban on the release of toxic chemicals in the water, do not drain or pour toxic wastewater into the water. |

Human resource with enough experiences and skills to collaborate with the expert team to run this project.
