The project is aimed at:
- Improving crop value chain and enhanched crop statistics system
- Strenthening the capacity of Agricultural Research Stations
- Facilitating the export of agricultural products |

The project comprises of 4 components:
1. Enhanced capacity of crop producers and crop statistics
2. Modern infrastructure support for Agricultural Research Stations
3. Provision of infrastructure, equipments and other necessary means for strenthening regional SPS services
4. Development of pest forcasting system for regional SPS Offices |
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
Key produce such as cassava products, rice, paddy, bananas, cashew, maize, mangoes, and chili have been exported to regional and international markets, especially China and Europe. However, with this development, there are still some hindrances along the way such as: low productivity, low product quality against international standards, product safety concerns, weak value chain development, weak SPS system and limited export mechanism, which requires further improvement and infrastructure development. |

National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO), farm owners, producers, agricultural cooperatives and all consumers will benefit from this project. |

The project will not have significant impact on the environment. Instead, it will reduce environmental impacts through reduction in the application of agricultural chemicals by means of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), which will substantially improve produce's quality and safety. |
