|
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.) |
BEC is established to mobilize and lead registered engineers in the Kingdom of Cambodia. The main tasks of BEC are to prepare and improve the engineering profession to protect the reputation and dignity of Cambodian engineers by building up technical capacity in every skill and human resources to fit with the current and future times. To the present day, BEC having registered 7904 engineers including 316 women. These registered members required to be trained continuously to catch up with the development of modern technology and the requirement of the industry. In this project, BEC will organize from time-to-time training sessions, seminars and workshops of necessary subjects to registered members. A training Division of BEC was assigned to handle the arrangement of these trainings. Trainers, lecturers, experts will be selected from Local country, China, Senior members of ASEAN countries. Most of the training session planned to organize in Phnom Penh Cambodia to reduce the travel expenses of Members. Besides its members, BEC also share these training courses with engineers from the neighboring countries Myanmar, Lao and Vietnam. Quantity of trainees and duration of trainings will depend on the approved funding.

15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
According to the research, The Board of Engineers Cambodia became fully aware of the fact that qualification of Cambodian engineers and their counterpart from MLV countries required to top up with the latest engineering practices to provide them opportunity to be equally employed in the industry of ASEAN region with engineers of 6(six) other members of ASEAN. The best solution is to send them to get additional trainings oversea with huge expenses. Alternatively, the arrangement of local training courses is more beneficial, if the funding would be locally available.
This program aims to minimize the different of professional skills between engineers of CMLV countries and engineers of other senior members which significantly enhance cross-border trades and mobilization of engineering services within ASEAN. |
