Phnom Tamao Zoological Park, Protected Forest and Arboretum became the Center, public awareness, research on environment and plants site and communications center. Researching at Phnom Tamao Zoological Park , Protected Forest and Arboretum has improved knowledge of wild plant and animal life on Earth. Breeding animals is the only option to protect wildlife from extinction in the future. In this situation, the zoo has played a very important role in the restoration of wildlife to prevent the extinction of wildlife. Meanwhile, the Center has another important role in the release of all kinds of wild animals into the wild, which is a core function of the Phnom Tamao Zoo, Protected Forest and Arboretum. These activities are a major contributor in maintaining a balance environment natural forests system, which are the foundation to support the development of sustainable of Cambodia on agriculture, food security, fishery, tourism, improving the living standards of local people and joint efforts in reducing the side effects that are caused by climate change and the global warming.

Preventing the extinction of wildlife and biodiversity resource through rescue, care, breeding public education and tourism service providing to ensure sustainable between economic, social and environmental needs.
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.)
Phnom Tamao Zoological Park, Protected Forest and Arboretum is located 45 kilometers south of the Phnom Penh capital, an area covered by a large rock, is the largest Park and a wildlife rescue center in Cambodia. Phnom Tamao Zoological Park, Protected Forest and Arboretum covering an area of forest over 2 025 hectares and are caring wild animals more than 1,000 individual who came from the confiscated of illegal wildlife trades and were rescued from hunters, and the most of them are sick and orphaned who need human intervention to survive before it can afford to return to the wild again.
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.)
The Project focuses on wild animals rescue, care and released back to the wild. Rehabilitation of individual wild animal is major objective and certainly valuable, especially for wild animals are confiscated from illegal trades, animals having conflict with humans and sick. The project provides a great other services that benefit both wildlife and people.
16. BENEFITS (Who will benefit, directly and indirectly, from the project?)
1-To rescue, cared and released wildlife back to natural forest. Those wildlife are released back to wild after their behavior have been rehabilitated. 2-To reduce human and animal conflicts. 3-To help improve community livelihood. Community members can increase their income through many services such as tourism services, sale agricultural products and labors...etc.
