1. Distribute urban traffic in connection with the Phnom Penh Ring Road Plan and to improve the Logistics flow of National Road (NR1, NR2, NR3, NR4, NR5, NR6, NR21) starting from Phnom Penh.
2. Accessibility and mobility of Kandal area on eastern side of the Mekong River, which remains develops land near the city center, will be dramatically improved, improving the living conditions of the residents of the Kandal area, increasing tourism and trade, and promoting urban expansion and revitalization of the local Economy. |
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.) |
Construction Road and two cable-stayed bridges, length 1,205m and 1,170m, connection from Daun Penh, Phnom Penh by crossing Chroy Changvar area to Akreiy Ksatr, Kandal Province. |
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
EIA of this project was prepared the analysis of related law and references, and the environmental reduction measures were established by reviewing the impact on all related physical, environmental, ecological, social, and cultural resources throughout construction and operation stage in Cambodia. |
16. BENEFITS (Who will benefit, directly and indirectly, from the project?) |
1. Shorten travel time from west of Phnom Penh to East of Kandal Province
2. Improve living standards for local residents
3. Better landmark of Phnom Penh
4. Contribute to the economic development of the underdeveloped Kandal region |

According to studies, Residents’ houses along the way will be relocated. Commercial land and agriculture land are also affected, but there will be an appropriate resettlement policy for those effected area. Moreover, the project will also assist in alleviating poverty. |
