Cambodia will be responsible for organizing the Cambodia Exhibition and Convention Center in line with its economic development. Projects with a strong commitment to industrialization, export preparation that the export preparation industry will be the driving force for economic growth. To achieve this goal, the Cambodia Trade Fair Center will play an important role in promoting the export of Cambodian products. |

Establish the Cambodia Exhibition and Convention Center to enhance and promote Cambodian products for use in the domestic and international markets. |
14. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: (Provide a description of the project and all its components.) |
➤ Execution:
-Establish a working group chaired by the Ministry of Commerce and involved the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and other relevant ministries.
-Study and consult on the possibility of establishing a center, locating and construction plan
-Study, understand and gain experience from the establishment of center management in some model countries as needed.
-Prepare project and action plan with development partners
-Implement construction projects and action plans
-Regularly inspect and monitor all stages of the construction process
-Assess the completion of construction
-Select a development partner or partner company with the Ministry to manage
➤The Cambodia Exhibition and Convention Center, with the estimated total area of five (5) hectares (50,000 square meters), shall be composed of the following facilities and equipment. The total investment cost is estimated at USD 188,687,500
-Estimated Land Cost: USD 48,500,000
-Estimated Construction of Center Main Building: USD 86,250,000
- Estimated Equipment: USD 14,375,000
-Estimated Feasibility Study: USD 4,082,500
-Estimated Consultant/Design: USD 3,220,000
-Operational Expenditure: USD 28,810,000
-Estimated Contingencies (10%): USD 3,450,000

15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.) |
Cambodia is a member of ASEAN, the World Trade Organization and has integrated itself into the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), where Cambodia will face international competition in the AFTA export market. And Cambodia will need more efficient export promotion materials. In this situation, almost all ASEAN countries have this type of trade promotion material. Which means that Cambodia will lag behind other ASEAN countries without this center. If the center works well as a pillar for trade and investment. The Center will expand the promotion of Cambodian products as well as replace imports with Cambodian products. That will achieve the economic development of Cambodia. |
16. BENEFITS (Who will benefit, directly and indirectly, from the project?) |
Local private companies ready for export as well as local importers. An estimated 4,000 potential private companies, about 50 companies, will use the center's facilities. In addition, private companies preparing for export and trading companies in Phnom Penh, local producers will benefit from the center. |
