Farmers will get high yield, good quality, short duration and market orientated rice seed. Through the introduction of the potential rice seed, farmers will produce more and get more rice production and incomes.

Select and purify potential rice seeds in specific area of Cambodia to promote high yield and good quality rice seeds to farmers and other involved.

24 rice seeds will be selected and evaluated its growth, plant criteria, planting duration, pest resistance, yield and marketing.
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.)
Currently, most farmers are still using impurity seed leading low quality and yield.
16. BENEFITS (Who will benefit, directly and indirectly, from the project?)
Farmers living in the 6 target provinces will get directly benefit from having good rice seed quality for production while traders will also get good quality rice for export.

General Directorate of Agriculture has Department of Rice Production where its mandate is to research and extend technology. There are technicians working on it.
