Work on rehabilitation of Tonle Bassac Riverway, 3900m long, 60m below 40m and 4m in total, 17,586,552m3 at National Road No 21, Kandal Province.
15. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: (Give reasons why this particular project is considered worthwhile.)
The project is part of the opening of a port for transporting cargo and passengers and helping to prevent a collision of water that can cause a collapse of the river.

1. Promote the standard of living of the people 2. Reduce the cost of transportation of all kinds of goods 3. Facilitate the transportation of goods from Phnom Penh to the Vietnamese border (Chrey Thom)

Department of Waterways and Port of Ministry of Public Works and Transport has sufficient capacity and experience to carry out the construction of the pier above.
